Melted Protein Cheese Dipping Sticks

These are the perfect Friday night fakeaway treat. Easy to make….and way to easy to eat too! The trick here is freezing the cheese sticks long enough so that they hold their shape in the oven! Serve with a spicy & rich tomato dip…and enjoy, because who doesn’t love melted cheese!

INGREDIENTS

  • Eatlean Protein Cheese

  • Breadcrumbs – Panko breadcrumbs work best, but you can use any bread that you have handy!

  • Flour

  • Egg

  • Spicy dip to serve!

METHOD

  1. First off, start by cutting your cheese sticks to size, or alternatively you can use our Eatlean snacking bars available now across a number of our retailers! Cut down to size, roughly 30g sticks work best!

  2. Place in a freezer bag and freeze for 2 hours to chill the cheese right down

  3. Prep a bowl of flour, a bowl of whisked egg, and a bowl of breadcrumbs

  4. Take the cheese out the freezer (be careful, the sticks can be a little delicate)

  5. Roll the sticks first in the flour, then the egg, followed by the breadcrumbs and place on a lightly oiled baking tray, or if you prefer to fry then place ready for the pan

  6. If you are baking the sticks, heat the oven to 220 and pop in until browned

  7. The best way to brown perfectly is to lightly fry the sticks, turning regularly, this way the cheese melts at a slower rate and the breadcrumbs brown up even quicker

  8. Serve with a spicy tomato dip, and enjoy!
